Allyn Hughes is a designer based out of New York City. Currently working at Columbia University Lab for Architectural Broadcasting (C-LAB), she has collaborated on numerous exhibitions and publications. She received her BA in Architecture from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, where her thesis work achieved distinguished honors. She has contributed to several publications, including Volume and CLOG Magazine. In 2011, "DIY M. Arch II," a joint proposal with Erin Ota, received honorable mention in philosophy from the Socio Design Foundation. Also that year, she presented work on social media within the context of public space at the International Design Seminar in the Netherlands. While in school, she founded Loud as Hell, a student organization that coordinated spontaneous events, such as parking lot meditations, film screenings, elevator pinups, etc.
