Garth Priber

Student
Garth Priber is a 3rd-year Master of Architecture student at Columbia University. After graduating from Cornell with a bachelor's degree in Industrial and Labor relations, he settled into a construction job in Manhattan for several years, managing residential renovation projects. Through this experience, he gained an interest in design, and questioned whether the processes of design and construction shouldn't be more aligned and integrated. At Columbia, he has been able to pursue this question through design and fabrication projects. Garth's other creative interests are in music and cooking.

PROSPECT PORK

Once a month a pig roast will be held in prospect park. In the morning, several mobile pig smokers load up with pigs and start smoking. They drive slowly around the park and the surrounding streets, wafting smoke to create a visual and olfactory sensation, and enticing people to follow. After several hours of smoking and creating an irresistable smellscape throughout the park and the surrounding neighborhoods, the smokers aggregate under a smoke-gathering pavilion and release their smoke as a beacon that the ultimate pig party has begun….
